What we do:

-Spring clean-up-

The snow is melting, bulbs are starting to sprout, and the winter debris is all over everything. We will remove fallen sticks, leaf litter, and deadhead plants from the past season. The garden will be a clean space for all your plants and flowers to grow into.

-Fall clean-up-

Temperatures are dropping, flowers are dying back, and it is time to put the plants to sleep for the winter. Some clients like a cleaner approach when entering the winter months, and prefer having all plants cut back. When spring arrives, there is less cutting back to do, and other areas become the focus.  Others opt to leave the cutting back for Spring. This makes for more work in the spring, but also creates a safe space for some creatures to hunker down in for the winter and the leaves act as a barrier for the cold.  Both options have benefits, but it comes down to preference.

-Maintenance-

The big Spring clean up has been completed, and it is time to sit back and watch your garden grow. In a perfect world, weeds would simply keep to themselves, but they are a friendly bunch. That is where maintenance comes in handy. Depending on the size of the property, and the type of weeds that have become overly affectionate for your garden, your property may benefit from a scheduled visit. Some clients prefer a visit every two weeks, others ask us to stop by once a month. We can work together to decide if this kind of plan would be helpful to you.

-Weeding-

Some say that a weed can be any plant that has wandered into an area it shouldn’t be. Whether it be a dandelion or more destructive foe like bittersweet vine, we are well versed in how to defeat and identify the enemy. It is our goal to take the most natural approach when dealing with weeds, so removal will be done by hand to avoid the use of chemicals.

-Planting-

Annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, or bulbs. You name it, we will put it in the ground. We are happy to do large or small planting jobs with items that the customer supplies, or plants that we have purchased from a trusted nursery.

-Pruning-

Let’s be honest, it’s scary. Your favorite tree or shrub needs a haircut or handful of branches removed. Before you know it, you’ve gone pruner crazy and the only thing left is a sad pile of sticks. You don’t want to clean it up and your work of art is a very naked plant. We understand the anxiety that comes with pruning, and we want to help. Certain shrubs like being pruned at certain times of the season, in very specific ways. We can keep those needs in mind, and prune when it is most beneficial to the plant. If you are looking to hone your skill, we can give you some tips and tricks along the way!

-Garden Design-

Plants are amazing. We can all agree on that. Some plants work in specific climates, zones, spots in your garden, have different light needs, soil needs, and can be prone to varying pests. Keeping those things in mind when walking through a nursery can cause a fun outing to turn sour very fast. Let’s figure it out together! We will come up with a game plan that includes dividing plants that already exist in your garden, relocating plants to different areas where they may work better, or discussing a budget for new additions to the space. We are here to listen, suggest ideas, come up with creative solutions and build something you love. Let’s do this!

-Mulching-

Some people like it, others like to do without. Either way, we support you. We can help with arranging mulch delivery, selecting the perfect color, and application. Oftentimes mulch can be applied too thick and haphazardly, resulting in smothered and unhappy plants. We are flower focused when mulching. This detailed approach ensures that plants are not buried or trampled on in the process.

-Containers-

Looking to add extra flair to a patio or porch with potted annuals or perennials? Let’s make it happen! We will discuss a budget that you are comfortable with and your likes and dislikes when it comes to textures, colors, and specific plants. Pizazz doesn’t have to stop once the days start getting shorter and cooler. Fall containers bursting with mums and pumpkin covered porches add a pop of harvest inspired fun. Even when flurries begin to fly, we are ready to brighten up any space with holiday greens and berries. Nothing says holiday cheer like twinkling lights and balsam boughs.

-Edging-

That crisp line between where the grass stops and the garden begins. A clean edge surrounding a garden bed is like a frame that surrounds a beautiful piece of art. It makes everything pop!

-Watering-

Everyone deserves a vacation, and worrying about your plants isn’t something you should have to think about while you are poolside. We can do the watering for you, so when you return, your garden looks just as lovely as it did before you worked on your tan.

-One-time visit-

You went a bit crazy at the nursery and now the fifty plants you bought need to find a home in your garden. We can help! Even if you only need an extra set of hands for the afternoon, we don’t need any convincing to dig in the dirt. Family party or backyard wedding coming up? It isn’t only the bride who should be looking her best. Let’s get that garden looking lovely for the guests. Just not too lovely. You don’t want to steal the spotlight.

-Garden Overhaul-

Garden Overhaul: Life gets busy, weeds take over, plants start cozying up with their neighbors, and spending a few hours in your garden has become a daunting task. You may see that area as an eye sore, but these projects can be the most rewarding and fun. Pulling back layers and rediscovering plants that were hidden, makes it an exciting process. The bigger and messier the project, the better the before and after photos will be. Challenge accepted!
